Whitney Montgomery - Top Ten
1. I have always been amazed that my husband and I grew up in the same town and went to all the same schools, but our paths never crossed until years later! We met once we both had started our careers and were married on 9/15/2001 – the week of the tragic 9/11/2001 event. Although it was a devastating time in our country, our extended families pulled together and supported one another. “We will always remember.”
2. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) changed my life through the foster and adoption of our son. Our advocate spoke up for an innocent newborn who could not speak for himself. Adoption day was truly one of the best days of my life. I often hear that my family has been a blessing to this child, but the truth is – he changed our lives and blessed us far beyond what we can ever give to him.
3. Traveling is something that I love and the best part is planning surprise trips for my family! I spend time secretly planning adventures that our whole family can enjoy together. When do they discover where we are going? When we get there! All my kids and my husband love the excitement and the suspense. Our favorite trips so far have been to New York City and our 7-day Disney cruise.
4. A diagnosis of Lyme’s Disease changed my life in 2003. After years of unexplainable symptoms and many doctor visits, I learned that a tick bite had sent me into a whirlwind, developing neurological symptoms that could have been disabling. I am stronger than I ever thought I could be. I am now healthier than ever and am able to use my experience to help others through my work as a Physician Assistant in neurology.
